Low-Income Taxpayer Project
If you are a volunteer with a LITP case and you want to submit your Quarterly Status Update, you can do so here.
The Low-Income Taxpayer Project (LITP) is a free tax clinic designed to help low-income taxpayers with federal tax problems, including:
refund delays
stimulus payments
tax credits
identity theft
audits
tax debts
liens & levies
Installment agreements
offers in compromise
innocent spouse relief
injured spouse relief
worker classification
Volunteers with the LITP are attorneys, CPAs, enrolled agents, and return preparers. They assist clients with a range of needs, including:
representing clients in their controversies with the IRS (training may be available)
preparing prior-year tax returns for clients needing to come into filing compliance
teaching classes to low-income and ESL students about the tax system (materials provided)
spreading the word about our services (brochures available)
Training and materials can be provided by 603 Legal Aid.
